Get started walks: Kolbeinsvarden, Askøy - Norway

Easy walk the day after the 7 mountains race. Kolbeinsvarden it’s a peak at Askøy and are a popular track for recreation by people living on the Island. The walk up to the peak its not impressive but when you get at the top the view makes up for the walk. You have a great view of the outer coastline of the Bergen region. Just outside of the islands surrounding Askøy you have the Nordic sea. From Kolbeinsvarden you have a front row seat for following the big cruise ships sailing in and out the fjord of Bergen.

Get started walks: Ullevålseter, Oslo - Norway

A walk to Ullevålseter it’s the best walk in the Oslo area on a Sunday morning after a night out. If you want to show off some sporty attitude to the world - this is the walk you will have the best chance to meet a colleague from your work. Always make you feel better when you strugling with a bad hangover:) Sognsvann - Ullevålseter is a popular walk all year around and it can almost be too much traffic on the way up to the cabin. Perfect distance and will cure a hangover - and make you ready for Monday morning.

Get started walks: Southern & Northern Kolsåstopp, Bærum - Norway

Similar walk as Skaugumsåsen and Vettakollen. Great views over Bærum, Oslo and inner Oslo fjord. Of the two peaks I think the North peak has a greater view than the South peak. The north peak also has a great steep traverse you can walk but it is steep! Of all the walks around Oslo I think the North top has Oslo’s best view and the best course if you walk the traverse up or down from the top. The south peak are a little more boring (both track and view). However, if you like to rock climb the south peak it’s a popular place for that activity.

Get started walks: Skaugumsåsen & Semsvannet, Asker - Norway

Nice steep short walk up to the top. At the top you have a great view over Asker and the inner Oslo fjord. You can choose many different courses down from the top. I combined this walk with a walk around Semsvannet below the peak. That combination makes this walk one of the best walks around Oslo both in variation and scenery. Great walk for the whole family, exercise, or just to show someone why Asker is a great place to live.

A walk to Vettakollen gives you great view over Oslo and the inner Oslo fjord. Stop by Båntjern a nice little pond on the way to the top. Better dating walk than Sognsvann and can easily be combined if the date goes well:)
